GC Libertad is run by people who have themselves been inmates in a Spanish prison. We know the system from the inside, the good and the bad. We know what it is like to sit in a cell without understanding the language, the rules or what happens next. And we know what it does to the family at home.

That is where the idea came from. When you have been through it yourself, you want to make it easier for the next person. So we started GC Libertad to help others in the same situation.

Only for foreigners in Spanish prisons

We work only with foreigners in Spanish prisons and their families. Being a foreigner in the Spanish justice system brings its own problems: language, distance, contact with the family, and lawyers who are hard to reach. We help with all of it, so the inmate and the family are not left alone.

Be careful with fast promises

Be careful if a lawyer promises you a quick case. Fast case handling does not exist in Spain, especially not if you are a foreigner. It is hard enough for EU citizens, and even harder for British citizens after Brexit. A case can take months or years, and anyone who promises otherwise is not being honest with you.

We would rather tell you the truth from the start. Then you can plan, and you know what to expect.
